Introduction:

To add a WhatsApp Integration you must head to our Integrations section and select Whatsaap.

Once WhatsApp is selected, you can connect your channel.

You can check your connected channels and status in the profile menu under “WhatsApp channels”.

Important Note: If you have a CRM connected to your account such as Twilio the integration won’t work. In that case you must extract the data directly from the CRM.

What is needed to configure an integration?

The first thing needed to use this integration is to have a Whatsapp account. This process will ultimately involve a Whatsapp Web device link connection. So, having the mobile device with WhatsApp (and a logged account) is needed. Then, this configuration can be installed.

The next thing to do is to “Create a Channel” or select an existing channel. When creating a channel, a (somewhat long) process will run until the channel is ready to accept a connection and then a pop-up like this will appear:

This QR code is meant to be scanned with Whatsapp Web. Since that moment, a new (unnamed, unknown) connection will appear in the device that scanned it.

Ideally, this connection should never be stopped / closed. If for some reason it’s closed, then a new connection must be set, for the existing integration, in its configuration section.

Is there any limitation on streams and data types?

Only one stream is available: messages. It returns the messages from all of the account’s conversations. This is purely incremental: the next run will only retrieve new / unfetched messages each time.
